As with Fasting - so with praying, I think it is important that you make your own program. So all I am offering is sugestions. Its up to you to decide what is a reasonable amount of "extra prayer", or whether you feel you should just offer all the prayers you usually say for the pro-life intention.
Many people who lead busy lives find it difficult to find time for formal prayers, but even a busy life can be dedicated to the Lord for the good of the pro-life movement. A simple morning offering which I would recommend is:
Dear Lord I offer you all the prayers, works, sufferings and joys of this day, all the good that I do and all the evil that I renounce, for the sake of all the babies that are due to be murdered today. May their mothers, and all those involved in the abominable practises of abortion and euthanasia, see the evil that they are involved in and turn back to Your loving mercy.
Of course the prayer most often said by Catholic pro-lifers is the rosary. If you would like to say a particular pro-life rosary then you might like to have a look at Fr. James Morrow's Pro-Life rosary. In fact his Pro-Life Prayerbook contains a whole selection of prayers you might find useful, including Stations of the Cross, prayers for a Holy Hour in front of the Blessed Sacrament, Hymns and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
The Divine Office, or Prayer of the Church, is said by Priests and Religious daily, but it is also said by members of the third order of religious congregations, and increasingly often in Church, or in private by the Laity. It consists of Hymns, Psalms, Canticles, Readings and Bidding Prayers, and its format is roughly as follows:
I am hoping to be able to put a version of these prayers onto the web in the not too far distant future: a version compiled by Dave Parry, a veteran pro-lifer from Scotland, and called the "Little Office of the Unborn".
Any of these prayers would be suitable for inclusion in your prayer program, which must, of course, depend on how much you can do. It is, however, a good idea to set yourself a program and stick to it. One possible, but very full program is as follows:
